Looks like I'm unable to even begin to reset/use Facetime or iMessage in this current state. Except Facetime and iMessage that on startup, asks for my Apple ID login, which I entered correctly using my current AppleID, but on submit, the login shows a spinner that runs for like 20 odd seconds, then an Apple ID prompt for me to re-enter my password, but the prompt shows my old Apple ID email address instead of the one I submitted in the app launch sign in! And the prompt is fixated at the old Apple ID, and there is no way for me to change the Apple ID on the prompt. You can quit the app by clicking the Apple Menu > Force Quit > Click on FaceTime and confirm the quit prompt. Although the app cannot be deleted from your Mac, if you are being prompted to sign in, then that means the app is open. I brought it in to Apple Service Center and they replaced the logic board (guessed the internal SSD was corrupted).Īll other Apps can work and recognise my current Apple ID nicely. Wed love to assist you with managing your FaceTime app. This Big Sur was upgraded via Migration Utility, when my macBook got bricked by a failed Catalina to Big Sur upgrade. Tip: To prevent notifications from disturbing you, you can change or turn off notifications instead. ![]() To turn FaceTime on again, click Turn On. ![]() Turn FaceTime off: Choose FaceTime > Turn FaceTime Off. I performed a NVRAM reset as well and that did not seem to help at all either. In the FaceTime app on your Mac, do one of the following: Sign out of FaceTime: Choose FaceTime > Settings, click General, then click Sign Out.
